Riders
Joanne Spliethof
Joanne is 22 years old and lives in Borculo, in the eastern part of the Netherlands.
She studies Physical therapy at the Saxion university of applied sciences, Enschede. She’s in her third year and is currently doing her minor about the human spine.
Before she started studying she spend one year (2012-’13) fully focused on equestrian as a working student at eventing rider Alice Naber-Lozeman. With de guidance of Alice and the Rabobank talentenplan (2012-‘15) she developed as a versatile rider. Her favourite discipline is therefore eventing (CIC*/novice), but also in show jumping (1.30m), dressage and team dressage she already achieved several successes.
In 2015 Joanne joined the international Studentriders. She had a good start at her first SRNC in the Netherlands (Barchem), finishing individually second in show jumping and fourth combined. The team rode the best teamtest and ended up second combined and third in dressage and show jumping.
The Worldfinals in Marburg, Germany, became the next competition. The Dutch team competed in the Goldleague with the top 6 countries of the past year. Despite the strong competition Joanne won the silver medal in show jumping and the fourth place combined. The team became third in show jumping and fourth in dressage and combined.
The last peak were the WUEC selections, which made her part of this brilliant Dutch team!
Marcia Dominicus
Marcia is 25 years old and lives in Amsterdam.
She will graduate this year with a degree in psychology. After she graduates she is going to study a Masters in Sport and Performance Psychology, this choice is because of her passion for (horse) sport. Marcia’s studies are just as useful as her horse riding, because she is a Master of Clinical Psychology. Her thesis research is being done in collaboration with the Royal Dutch Equestrian Federation and is about fear after falling in horse riders. As a mental coach she is already working with the Equestrian Eventing Talents Centre and the Alice Eventing School.
Like Joanne, after her high school Marcia spent one year as a working student with Alice Naber-Lozeman. She then worked for two years in show jumping and dealing yard with Jeroen Heijmans, but she has only had her own horse for a year. She was given the chance by Petra van den Berge to train her young mare and bring it into the sport. Marcia actually finds all disciplines fun and especially likes to do what the horse does best. Thus it is with Kassiopeia who is now successful in eventing Z / CIC * level. In dressage she has competed at Medium and she jumps 1.20.
Unfortunately in 2015 Marcia was injured, but in 2014 she rode in five SRNC’s. At four, she reached the semi-finals in jumping and / or dressage. Her biggest individual success was in Romania, where she won the combined competition and earned a third place in dressage and jumping. England was a the most successful competition with team gold medals for dressage, jumping and combined! She was also on the WUEC 2014 team that was supposed to travel to Abu Dhabi, but unfortunately this event was canceled due to an infectious horse disease.
Marjolein Heuvelmans

Alexandra van Randwyck
Alex is 21 and lives near Winchester in the UK.
