Trainer – Wim Bonhof

Wim will train and support the Dutch team before and during the WUEC.

He is known in show jumping and by others for his work as a trainer and coach of the pony show jumping teams. Additionally, Wim was the leader of the performance test for KWPN stallions, he worked as a manager at the KNHS center and he wrote two books in collaboration with Sandra Nieuwendijk and Tessa van Daalen: Jump with feeling and Riding with feeling.

In the past he has experienced many championships as coach of the ponies (eight years) and has achieved several successes. Currently he is active as a trainer of several jumpers.

The books he has written both focus on feeling. “The basic principle is that the horse is the client, the trainer gives instructions and the rider is in control.” The rider has to adapt itself to indicating so that the horse can understand. Consciously disturbing the horse as little as possible when riding and to drive feeling are the base for this. And that twice as important for riding strange horses.

With this experience and knowledge Wim is the perfect trainer for the Dutch student team and we are therefore very happy that he wants to work with us!
